Water Softening Explained
What is a water softener system?
A water softener system is a system designed to remove the hardness from your water so that it is easier on your plumbing and fixtures, makes your skin nice and soft, promotes shinier and healthier hair and makes your home far easier to clean.
Most quality water softener system units use either salt (Sodium chloride) or potassium (potassium chloride), a water softener sodium salt substitute you remove mineral hardness from water. For more information on what hard water means please read the information on this page:
A water softener system also helps to reduce the energy costs required to heat your water by removing heavy hard water and hard water scaling from the hot water heater.
A complete water softener system will usually include a Reverse Osmosis drinking water system to remove any remaining sodium or salt (Or salt substitutes) from your drinking water as well as many other unwanted contaminants.
Many water softener systems combine either filters for well water (Such as iron or sulfur filters) or filters for city water (Carbon filters for chlorinated water) to further enhance the water quality.
Beware of companies who claim they have magnets and other miracle cures for hard water. These sort of shady items fail all laboratory tests. If you have any questions about our water softener systems, mailto:water@watersopure.com
